BSP Samoa supports young women in ICT
BSP is pleased to support the work of six outstanding young women in ICT through scholarships this year.
International Girls in ICT Day is celebrated annually on 27th of April. BSP is proud to empower the women in the field by awarding six scholarships worth up to $5,000 to winners of the Girls in ICT 2023.
BSP Samoa Country Head Jennifer Fruean said the project demonstrates the incredible potential of young women in this field, and BSP is proud to be able to support them in their pursuit of higher education and careers in this exciting and rapidly growing industry.
The school scholarships worth up to $5,000 covers the payment of school fees for all the students in the winning group and individual for two terms of 2023. The scholarships aim to support the winners in their pursuit of higher education and careers in ICT.
The winning group project, Solar Eco Lights was developed by Egneezeema Chan Tung, Lily Ott, Savelina Kasiano, Epifania Kalolo and Darcel Tuu’u who are Year 13 students from St Mary’s College and the Individual Project titled Digital 3D Hologram Projector was developed by Zoe Oliva of Church College Pesega.
“We are thrilled to be able to recognise and support the outstanding work of these young women in the field of ICT. Congratulations to the winners and all the participants” Fruean added.
BSP in partnership with the Office of the Regulator sponsored the prizes by awarding merchandise to the winning groups.
